Meet Jordan Bower
I'm a transformative storytelling consultant who can help change how you and your team think, work, and communicate.
Motivational, flexible, creative, and emotionally aware—these are just some of the inner qualities that today’s best leaders are using to boost engagement, well-being, and empowerment in their companies.
In a turbulent world of social and technological change, this new leadership style is a necessity. It has quickly eclipsed the more familiar leadership approach, which relies on control and compliance—but can’t motivate the innovation, collaboration and hope so essential to success in business today.
I can guide you through this crucial shift. My work with leaders, teams and entire companies helps to disrupt familiar tools and mindsets, allowing you to reimagine goals, adapt your systems, and communicate your new narrative to your world.

What Motivates and Informs My Work
I believe that business can become a genuine vehicle for a better world through marrying opposites: head & heart, possibility & reality, strategic smarts & creative expression.
After graduating from business school, I spent the majority of my young adulthood deconstructing my beliefs and perspectives. As I traveled the world, I continuously asked myself navel-gazing questions, like “who am I” and “what does it mean to be a human being.”
I began to think of myself as an artist—I started to tell people that I was a storyteller. I embraced this identity with naivety, attempting to repress my own privileged background and everything that I associated with “business.”
Eventually, I decided to explore how to reconcile this division within myself. With great reluctance, I began to market professional services, clinging at first to my bohemian (and constructed) personal identity. With time, I saw that my struggle within myself paralleled so many people’s experience in business—so many of my clients were also trying to figure out how to be professional, while also being themselves.
My work is motivated by my deep knowing that leaders, teams, and businesses can become both profitable and meaningful. In fact, these are the same thing.
“Homo sapiens is a storytelling animal that thinks in stories rather than in numbers or graphs, and believes that the universe itself works like a story, replete with heroes and villains, conflicts and resolutions, climaxes and happy endings.”
— Yuval Noah Harari
What a Transformative Storytelling Consultant Does
My work helps you facilitate a “narrative change” inside your business that is authentic, enduring and successful.
Narrative change involves rethinking and reshaping the stories we tell—about ourselves, our work and the world we operate in.
This is not a superficial process. It’s not about persuading or convincing. In many ways, narrative change transcends storytelling by getting to the root of how people think, feel, and conceptualize value—and working head-on with the emotional dynamics that we all will encounter down there.
I recognize that, for many years, most people in business have considered this work “soft.” At best, they have considered it superficial—a branding campaign. Lipstick on a pig. What’s different today is that we all are in narrative change. The reality of this shift is inarguable. It is affecting every aspect of our business: how we market, what we sell, how we come together; our goals and dreams.
My insight, as a storytelling consultant, is that this stuff can be worked with. New narratives can cohere as old ones slip away.

How I Approach Transformative Storytelling
Through my workshops, change journeys, and coaching, I see narrative change as a process. In some instances, this may include developing language, visuals and words—but the real outcome of my work with clients is much more profound.
We are all accustomed to narrative change, even if you have never used this language. As people, our narratives change whenever we move through major life events. Sometimes, those events happen within our personal lives—a marriage, a birth, a relocation, or a passing. And sometimes, those events affect many of us at a societal or cultural level.
Your favorite sports team wins the championship. A new technology arrives. There is a natural disaster or a political change. Each of these results in a change in our individual and collective narratives. The work comes in adjusting to this new reality.
We can think of this change process as involving several interrelated steps:
Narrative insight comes as we recognize the arrival of change—and look into it to determine its deeper nature
Narrative innovation is the beginning of adapting to change. We start to ask ourselves “what might be different”—arriving upon tangible answers.
Leadership mindsets shift as we recognize that the skills and strategies we need are also in flux alongside the narrative.
Culture/systems change is when we make adaptations to our patterns of behavior—at both an individual and collective/team level
